Music producer and visual artist
The artist
Josh Job is a Dubai-based singer-songwriter from Kerala, blending conversational melodies and jangly acoustic guitar with folk, rock and soul. He grew up around the UAE’s Indian music community and began writing songs on school buses before performing his original material across Dubai.
A period in Vancouver broadened his music and film practice. Back in Dubai, he brings those disciplines together: writing and producing his own releases while helping fellow musicians create live films, animation and music videos.

Original songs on UAE stages
Early SoundCloud demos led to local performances and a FLEXessions recording of ‘Lady Desperado’. A Virgin Radio competition win brought an opening set for Alicia Keys in 2013.

The Vancouver chapter

A broader creative practice
While studying art and design in Canada, Josh developed his film and music production skills and performed across Vancouver’s Downtown and Gastown circuit.
The Railway had once hosted Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, while Jimi Hendrix is said to have busked on Granville Street.
His own live work included the Railway, Trees, the Blarney Stone, the Roxy and the Portside, alongside a 2018 Vancouver International Jazz Festival appearance at the Railway.
Josh carries this experience into his original work and collaborations in Dubai.
the distance
This was Josh’s first official release as Josh Job. A song about the nostalgia and melancholy of moving between places, it reintroduced him to the local music community.
Josh wrote, produced and performed the track, recording vocals, guitars, bass and drums himself. He also created the animated music video through 3D modelling, animation and editing.
